Razzball Commenter Leagues, Week 25, 2024 Fantasy Baseball

Only two weeks left in this grueling marathon of a fantasy baseball season.  Are you a Phillies team, cruising to the finish line and waiting to collect your winnings, or more of a Mariners team looking to scrap for every win you can as you fight into your league money spots?  Or maybe you are a White Sox team just hoping for the season to end so you can be put out of your misery and really focus on fantasy football anyway?  Hopefully, your Razzball Commenter League isn’t too full of White Sox teams.  There are plenty of close races out there, I’m playing the part of the Mariners in several leagues because some psychopath set these money leagues up to only pay the top two.  This seems to be the year I’m looking at finishing third everywhere.  But wait, DFSers Anonymous pays the top three!  I’m sitting in fourth there.  Welp, it’s one of those seasons it seems.  Can’t win ‘em all, but we absolutely will fight until the final game of the season.  We do, after all, have our integrity.  For those who need some additional motivation, we have an updated MASTER STANDINGS for you.  Remember that the top twelve teams all get invited to our Champions League, COUGS R US next season.  If that’s not enough for you, you can try and top Grey who currently sits 34th overall.  Still need more?  I would wager that finishing in the top 50 of these standings is the mark of a really great season, so, push to the finish and see what you can do, it’s not too late to make a big move.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

No major swings this week.  Son maintains a three-point lead on Grey.  At this point, it’s going to take a commissioner intervention for Grey to win it.  My 81 points are nowhere close, this is a two-man race. Son led the week in runs and batting average while Grey led in HR and RBI.  They are neck and neck coming down the stretch. Good luck!

RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE

Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam.  This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.

Welcome to Moeball, the new, rebranded Razzball.  Honestly, BIG props to Moe who got made fun of relentlessly in the draft, can be a bit loud, and over the top, but put his money where his mouth is and won the whole dang thing.  Let the haters hate, Moe, you got the last laugh.  I’ll let him break it down for you in his own words HERE. Much respect.

Congrats to our top ten finishers this year.

As for the Wildcard Tier:

Dan Richards takes those honors.  Nice work, everyone!

The top three teams remain the same with two weeks to go, but those top two are CLOSE.  0.2 points separate the two.  Looks like a photo finish!  It’s possible these other teams go on a tear, combined with a higher LCI could push a FANTASY ICON or a Backdoor Splitter to the top as they finish off their IP.  Afternoon Delight is rocking a 107 LCI from RCL 34 though, and that could be tough to beat if they can secure another point or two in the standings.  I’m excited to see how things shake out.  Big shoutout to password is taco/dwightford who has FOUR teams in the top ten, and five in the top 15.  That’s almost as impressive as winning the whole thing.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: FANTASY ICON

League: DFSers Anonymous

Stats:   AVG: .243, R: 46, HR: 15, RBI: 38, SB: 14

IP: 86, ERA: 2.93, WHIP: 1.093, K: 81, W: 10, SV: 6

Summary: FANTASY ICON  pretty much wrapped up DFSers Anonymous, gaining 3.5 points to 100 and stretching their lead to 13.5.  As someone in this league who is trying to chase down everyone I can and finish in the money, this saddens me.  Cody Bellinger led the offense, hitting .320 with nine runs, three home runs, and nine RBI. Matt Wallner, Trea Turner, and Cedric Mullins each added two homers and drove in four. Mullins also stole two bases, while Jose Ramirez contributed four and Wyatt Langford three.  Brayan Bello led the way with two of the starters’ eight wins. Michael Kopech and Tyler Kinley each had a win and a save, with Josh Hader adding two saves.  ICON picked a darn good time to get hot.  All their teams seem to be getting hot as this is back-to-back weeks as TOW with different teams–in two tough leagues as well.  Nice work, ICON, way to finish strong.
