NFL Week 13 Game Recap: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21, Carolina Panthers 18 | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics

The Carolina Panthers put together a competitive performance in their first game after former head coach Frank Reich’s firing but ultimately fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road, 21-18.

Offensive spotlight: Mike Evans was the clear star of the Tampa Bay offense again this week, as he not only delivered a touchdown but brought in seven receptions for 162 receiving yards as the top receiving option in the game. Evans has now posted more than 1,000 receiving yards in 10 straight NFL seasons. Running back Rachaad White also continued his strong play this season, taking 20 carries for 84 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Bryce Young had a fairly quiet day passing the ball, going just 15-of-31 for 178 yards, no touchdowns and a crucial interception on the team’s final drive of the game. Chuba Hubbard ran the ball 25 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns this week and dominated the Panthers’ backfield touches.

Defensive spotlight: Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. has been a defensive weapon this year and was as much in this game. Winfield converted his third sack of the year to go along with a game-sealing interception late in the fourth quarter. He also added three pass breakups and a team-leading eight tackles.

Rookie spotlight: Panthers second-round wide receiver Jonathan Mingo led the team in receiving yards for the second straight week. Mingo brought in six receptions on 10 targets for 69 receiving yards in the contest.
